Dear Parent(s),

On Monday, October 31st many children and their families will celebrate Halloween.  While we recognize this long standing tradition we also recognize that there are families that choose not to celebrate Halloween.  We always endeavor to provide a safe, caring and inclusive school.  With this being said, your child may come to school dressed in a costume, they may come dressed in orange and/or black or they may come dressed as they would on any other day.

Classroom teachers will communicate with you as to the specific learning that will take place in their classroom on Monday. If Halloween themed activities are planned and your child(ren) choose not to participate the teacher will provide alternative learning for them during this time.

If your child(ren) choose to wear a costume to school please adhere to the following guidelines:

  • Costume choice should be appropriate for a multi-age school
  • Masks are not permitted as they impair vision
  • Costumes must adhere to the school dress code
  • Items simulating weapons are not permitted
  • Props should remain at home to avoid loss or damage

Should you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to contact the school.

 Sincerely,

Ms. Leslie McNabb                                                   Mrs. Valerie Martin
