Dear Silverheights Families:

School council is in need of some new faces and council members!

As a school council member, you the parents of the students at Silverheights can help the council discover new and exciting ways to contribute to the education of the students at this school. Education is a partnership involving parents, students, teachers, principals and the community. As a parent or guardian of a student(s) at this school, your involvement in the council gives you the opportunity to strengthen and shape that partnership and to be a part of a dedicated team working to ensure a high quality of education and activities that support the school experience and environment.

Please join us for our first meeting of the year on Tuesday, September 26th at 6:30 pm in the

school library. This first meeting is vital as it’s our election night.

Many positions need to be filled so come out with nominations ready or step up to a role you think you’d be able to fill. We need a great school council and we can’t do it without you!

In general, these meetings are a great way to stay informed, ask questions and provide input regarding our school initiatives, upcoming events and future plans. You, as parents and caregivers, can really help to shape the environment our kids are learning in. With additional support, there is so much we can do to enhance the education and environment of our school.

School pride doesn’t begin and end at the doors of the school. Showing our kids how much we are invested in their school experience can have a huge impact.

You will find all of our previous meeting minutes and agendas posted on the school website under the School Council bar.

Occasionally, we simply need a small sub-committee for one event or another that requires only a short term commitment. All of this will be posted on emails and the school website.

With many thanks from your school council.
