On Saturday, November 26, the WRDSB is hosting ‘Families in a Digital World ~ a Digital Citizenship Summit’ for adult family members of children attending WRDSB schools.

The day includes a Keynote address by Jennifer Moss, social media expert, and co-founder of the local company Plasticity Labs, and 3 sessions with a variety of presenters offering topics of interest to families related to Digital Learning, Citizenship and Social Media use among children, youth and young adults. Presenters include local technology leaders and innovators, community members, teachers and board staff. There will also be a great lunch by EVO Kitchen, an Adult Digital Playground at lunch, and Child Care available! And …. registration is FREE!!
Further information about the event, and a link to register can be found at the event website > [ http://dcsummit.weebly.com/ ]http://dcsummit.weebly.com
We are trying to reach parents and families of children who attend WRDSB schools to inform them about this event! These Digital Citizenship topics are so frequently questioned and requested by parents, and we want to reach as many families as possible with our promotion.
Information has been shared on the board website, school websites and the WRDSB Facebook page. It is being promoted on Twitter – our hashtag is #wrdsbdigcit. WRAPSC and PIC members are informed and are sharing with their networks. They have received an email about the event, and a poster which should be displayed on the bulletin board in your school.
Again, we would like to ask for your support in reaching parents in your school community.
I thank you and hope to see your school represented at the Summit!
