Dear Grade 7 and 8 Parents,

As you know we have been undergoing some major construction at Silverheights Public School.  Due to some unforeseen delays in the new construction we need to make some temporary arrangements to accommodate students starting tomorrow.  As of Wednesday September 4, 2013 we will temporarily locate all Grade 7 and 8 classes at Lincoln Avenue Public School in Cambridge.  We are able to arrange for appropriate space in that school for our six classes of Grade 7 and 8 students for the remainder of this week, and beyond if needed.

Bussing to and from Lincoln Avenue Public School will be provided to all students.  The bus to Lincoln Avenue Public School from Silverheights will depart at our entry bell time of(8:35am).  Students will return to Silverheights for our dismissal bell time of (2:55pm).  We have scheduled these busses to allow students who need to walk to and from school with siblings or parents, or who catch the other school busses to and from school, to continue to do so.  We encourage students to arrive on time to catch the school bus, however we have plans in place to get students over to Lincoln Avenue Public School if they miss the bus.   If you wish to drive your child to Lincoln Avenue Public School you are welcome to do so.  Please note, we will have staff on yard duty and available to supervise starting at 8:20 am.

As previously planned, On Friday September 6^th the Grade 7 and 8 classes will be attending the team building program at Chicopee. The cost of this trip will be covered by the school as a way to support and thank families for their patience and flexibility with our construction process.   Details have been provided to parents.

Lincoln Avenue Public School classrooms are being prepared for our students. Teachers will be able to set up classrooms this afternoon and will be ready to welcome our students tomorrow.  For your information the street address is;  Lincoln Avenue Public School, 77 Lincoln Ave, Cambridge, Ontario N1R 4X1.  The school telephone number is 226-972-8490  To report absences or leave messages for teachers please continue to use the Silverheights numbers.

We appreciate that this may be be challenging experience for some of our students but we are making every attempt that every student has a positive learning experience. I will be providing an update to all parents and students as of Friday morning.
