Dear Silverheights Parents/Guardians:

Mrs. Moen, Principal of Silverheights, has requested that we let you know that she will be extending her leave of absence until November 1st, 2014. Although her husband is recovering, she needs to be at home to support him during this time. She has appreciated your support and ongoing good wishes for her family. Mrs. Ogilvie will continue in her role as Acting Principal until Mrs. Moen returns.

We also need to reinforce that the safety of our students is our top priority. With 736 students attending Silverheights, a new school built just down the road and several buses delivering and picking up students each day, we are experiencing significant safety concerns with the number of cars parking/stopping on Scott Road or using the Conestoga Daycare Parking lot. Over the past week, new signs were erected in the Staff Parking lot to indicate the Parking Lot cannot be used to drop off or pick up students during the peak busy hours of 8:30 to 8:55 and 2:55 to 3:20. Students can be dropped off on Poplar, Dawn Crescent or Memory Lane. Stopping or parking on Scott Road to drop off students is too dangerous. Please allow yourself sufficient time to park on the designated streets and walk your children to school.

City of Cambridge Bylaw officers will be frequenting our school over the next week to help ensure the safety of our students and your children.

Sincerely,

Administration
