Dear Parent(s)/Guardian(s),

The Waterloo Region District School Board will be raising Pride flags during June Pride Month at the Education Center and at each of our school sites.  This aligns with our Strategic Priority that staff are supported in their wellness and students experience a sense of belonging in a caring learning environment that addresses their well-being.

Many of our staff, students and parents/guardians identify as members of the Rainbow community.  Commemorating June Pride Month by raising flags demonstrates our commitment to equity, inclusion and acceptance.  The Pride flag is a symbol for the LGBTQ+ community.  Its colours, red, orange, yellow, green, blue and violet represent life, healing, sunlight, nature, harmony and spirit.

Flags will be raised on June 1st and will be removed for the end of the day on Friday, June 30th.

Sincerely,

Ms. Leslie McNabb                                                       Mrs. Valerie Martin
