Hawks,

The Cambridge Food Banks are at an all time low due to Covid. They have asked us to be creative in order to do Food Drives.
A community member,(Big Guys Moving Company) donated their covered trailer for the next week starting Monday.  This trailer is far too big to try to fill so we are going to make it fun and tell a story involving SWOOPER.  The Silverheights Mascot SWOOPER has built  a nest in the trailer.
Silverheights is challenging all students/families/staff to fill the nest with non-perishable food items.  If you can, please donate to our food drive.  Non perishable food items can be dropped off, directly into the truck from Monday October 26th to Friday October 30th. Students cannot bring food items into the school – they must be dropped off directly into the truck – this is to ensure we are following Public Health protocol.
Students will also receive colour house points which helps us build school spirit!
Possible non-perishable food items to bring to Silverheights:
Most needed food and household items
  • Pasta (canned or dry) and pasta sauces.
  • Canned and frozen meats and fish.
  • Meat alternatives (peanut butter, soy, assorted nuts)
  • Canned goods (beans, soups, and stews)
  • Canned vegetables and fruit.
  • Whole grain cereals.
  • Infant foods and baby formula.
Help us give back to our community!

Be Well!
