Dear Silverheights Community,

Silverheights is extremely proud to be organizing and participating in the Terry Fox run again on Thursday, October 6th. This year, we will be running & walking during our middle learning block, (off-campus for Grades 3-8 & school field route for Gr K- Gr 2). This year our goal is $5000, which will be displayed in our front foyer for students to keep track!

  • We are asking all families to please complete the following to ensure a safe & fun day:
  • Completing the School Day “Off-Campus” form (sent in a separate School Day message) to allow your child to participate in the Terry Fox Run. * We will need these completed by Tuesday of this week to ensure full participation for all students* For those who do not have School Day, please be sure to send in your hard copy permission form by Tuesday this week as well.

* Note: We are also looking for volunteers to help supervise at checkpoints along the route. If you are available on October 6th between 11:30 & 1:30, please email Mr. Read: justin_read@wrdsb.ca so arrangements can be made.

  • Encourage students to bring in their Toonies for our “Toonie Toss for Terry” where entire classes will have a chance to win prizes of a Pizza Party, Freeze Friday or a chance to “Cream Pie” a staff member of their choice! Over the next week, our student Hawks Council will come around each morning to collect toonies from each class (please try to have these brought in by Wednesday morning). The Toonies will be divided up equally and redistributed to classes on Thursday morning. This will ensure that each student has a chance to throw a toonie on this special day – we want to ensure that everyone can participate. The more toonies that we collectively can raise as a community, the more tosses for everyone in the school!!!
  • If able, students are encouraged to wear Yellow or Green Silverheights School colours so we can show the community our Silverheights School Spirit!!!

Every dollar counts and we are truly thankful for your efforts and support with helping us raise both funds and awareness, all while bringing our great community together.
