Parents/Guardians,

 

This letter is to inform you of the EQAO Provincial Testing of all students in grades 3 and 6. The EQAO testing will take place between May 22nd and June 5th 2024 here at Silverheights PS. This standardized test is to aid educators as they work to improve classroom instruction and overall elementary education in Ontario. It helps form policy and it helps schools identify challenges in their school improvement plans.

Here at Silverheights the staff is working very hard to prepare your son/daughter for the upcoming test weeks. Although a student cannot study for this test they can prepare themselves. There will be many classroom practice activities directly related to the test that will happen here at Silverheights. A student along with their parents and teachers can practice the skills and strategies we know are necessary to be successful on the test. We encourage you, as the primary caregiver, to discuss the test and help work through some of the anxiety that often accompanies large tests. We strongly suggest you visit the EQAO website at www.eqao.com for more information. Here you will find test tips, practice activities, previous tests and resource links for you and your child.

Please feel free to contact the school if you have any questions or concerns about the EQAO test. Your son/daughter’s success is very important to us and in partnership we can ensure they do their very best.
