This Thursday is Hallowe’en and you can feel the excitement in the school!  It is up to your family to decide if your children will wear a costume at school or dress in Black and Orange instead.

If they are going to wear costumes, we ask students to wear comfortable clothes underneath to easily change later. In the interest of safety we ask that children do not wear masks or bring any props to school. We find masks often make it hard for students to see where they are going.   A bit of face makeup is best.  Costumes can be expensive and we do not want any props/ items damaged or lost at school.  Of course, costumes need to be appropriate in nature and adhere to our dress code, and no items simulating weaponry or violence are allowed at school. We also ask that costumes are not so scary that they frighten our youngest students.

If you would like to send treats to school, please check with the classroom teacher beforehand.  Remember that many of our students have allergies, especially to nuts.  A good alternative to sugary treats is a pencil, eraser or sticker.

Happy Hallowe’en to all! -B.Moen
